Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage fakes the leg kick and cracks Brown in the body.
Dex Rage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Rage wants to break free but Brown has control.

Brown lands a takedown into guard.
Rage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brown on the ground.

Brown checks a low kick from Rage.
A head kick misses from Rage.
Rage looks for the body kick but Brown saw that one coming.
Brown takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Rage tries a head kick but it misses.
Rage throws a combination. Brown tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Rage throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.
Rage is breathing heavily.
Brown stalks Rage and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rage's face. Rage staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Dex Rage has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rage ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rage misses with a head kick.

Brown drives through with a takedown into guard.

Brown gets to his feet. Rage looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Brown scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Brown stalks Rage and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rage's face. Rage staggers backwards, shaken.

Brown moves into the clinch successfully.

Brown breaks the clinch.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brown fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rage avoids a kick to the body.
Brown shoots for a takedown but Rage saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brown looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Brown keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rage throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brown throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Rage counters with a body kick.

Brown shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brown was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Brown controlling the pace for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown cracks Rage with an open hand slap.
Brown sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Brown is looking to clinch.
Rage throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Brown.
Rage swats away the attempt to clinch by Brown.

Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rage's waist but Rage gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brown has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Brown forces Rage back against the cage and clinches.

Brown's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A solid leg kick lands there for Brown.
Rage slips a jab and a cross from Brown.

Rage is trying to maintain a safe position but Brown gets an underhook and turns Rage into the cage.

Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Brown shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brown showed some decent athleticism there.
Rage tries to kick Brown off but Brown keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Rage is trying to stand up here but Brown is controlling him well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Brown wants to pass to mount but Rage is defending the position.
Brown moves nicely into side control.

James Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Rage's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Nice takedown defense from Rage. No joy for Brown on that attempt.
Rage drops his hands momentarily and Brown takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rage lands with a slapping head kick.
Rage dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brown. That did some damage!

Brown lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard.
Brown trying to control but Rage is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Brown stands and steps away. Rage gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Brown instigates a clinch.
Brown has had enough of the clinch but Rage keeps him there for the moment.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Rage wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Brown has him pressed against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brown wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brown blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Brown jumps into guard, dragging Rage to the mat.

Brown has his foot on Rage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rage works his way back into a safe position though.
Rage tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.

Brown kicks Rage off and gets to his feet.
Brown swinging wilding here.
Rage has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Dex Rage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rage misses with a kick to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rage wants to break the clinch but can't.

Brown has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rage is trying to keep an underhook but Brown manages to get the takedown into half guard.
James Brown has got the better of the ground game so far.

Well, if Brown is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well Brown has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
