PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Bullock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janex Hamanec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Janex Hamanec told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hamanec shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bullock manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hamanec is looking to stand up but Bullock won't let him.
Bullock is pulling down on Hamanec's head. It's preventing any offense from Hamanec, at least for the moment.
Bullock could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hamanec trying to control the position from guard on top but Bullock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bullock is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hamanec ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hamanec tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bullock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bullock tries to counter with a takedown but Hamanec is quick to defend against it.

Hamanec drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bullock is pulling down on Hamanec's head. It's preventing any offense from Hamanec, at least for the moment.

Hamanec tries to stand but Bullock is controlling from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bullock holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hamanec looks to clinch

and Bullock counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hamanec can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bullock controls the pace.
Hamanec has momentary wrist control but Bullock slips an elbow through the middle.
Hamanec wants to stand and escape but Bullock is having none of it.

Hamanec is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hamanec controls Bullock momentarily but Bullock frees himself.
Hamanec utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hamanec lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bullock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hamanec looks winded!
Bullock postures up in Hamanec's guard and throws a big left but Hamanec blocks it.

Bullock drops back looking for a leg! Hamanec is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hamanec manages to kick Bullock off! Bullock jumps back into Hamanec's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Janex Hamanec dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bullock shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bullock showed some decent athleticism there.
Hamanec is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bullock jumps into side control!
Hamanec is letting Bullock control him for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hamanec is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bullock has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Bullock content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Bullock's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Bullock decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hamanec tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bullock paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bullock has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hamanec breaks from the clinch.

Bullock fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hamanec to the ground. Bullock is now in Hamanec's guard.
Bullock is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bullock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bullock won't allow Hamanec to sweep him here.
Bullock loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Bullock decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hamanec manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bullock on his heels. He'll look to pass Bullock's guard now, I'm sure.
Hamanec is breathing heavily.

Hamanec has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bullock to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hamanec is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bullock pulls down on the head and he's put Hamanec to sleep! This one is all over!
