Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colin ODonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Fat by Wierd Al. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colin ODonnell!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ODonnell misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson misses with a wild combination.
ODonnell lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
ODonnell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson throws a series of punches but ODonnell moves out of range.
And ODonnell tries to counter it with a takedown but Johnson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
ODonnell throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Johnson staying out of range there.
Johnson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Johnson misses with a wild combination.

Johnson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with ODonnell, pushing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
ODonnell avoids the elbow strike from Johnson, against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Johnson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Johnson gets underhooks to prevent ODonnell's takedown attempt.
Joe Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Colin ODonnell.

Johnson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Colin ODonnell has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Joe Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but ODonnell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
ODonnell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Johnson throws a right and a left that ODonnell avoids nicely.
And ODonnell tries to counter it with a takedown but Johnson pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Johnson sets himself, and ODonnell steps forward looking for the clinch! Johnson avoids it this time.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson wants to slow ODonnell down by chopping away at his legs.
Some bone on bone action there as ODonnell checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Johnson wants to clinch up but ODonnell keeps it at a distance.

ODonnell avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. ODonnell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

ODonnell lands a head kick. Johnson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and ODonnell counters with a crisp one two that drops Johnson! ODonnell thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Johnson to his feet! Johnson is in big trouble!


Johnson is rocked!
Johnson glances at the clock... BAM! ODonnell nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Johnson crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Johnson is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Colin ODonnell!
