PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mega Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akuma Kamealoha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Akuma Kamealoha!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope moves in looking to clinch but Kamealoha pushes him off.
Kamealoha blocks the body kick.
Pope lands a front kick.

Pope closes the distance and clinches.
Pope missing with knees to the body.
Pope is looking to break free of the clinch but Kamealoha has double underhooks.
Kamealoha content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kamealoha blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kamealoha looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Pope has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kamealoha is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pope misses with a hook from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kamealoha has Pope pressed against the cage.
Pope is looking to control Kamealoha's arms but Kamealoha gets an underhook and turns him. Now Pope has his back to the cage.

Pope seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Kamealoha is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
The referee calls for Kamealoha to work.
Pope is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kamealoha is defending well for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Mega Pope.
Sloppy strikes from Pope. Those never looked like landing.
Pope swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pope tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kamealoha counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Mega Pope has been cut.
Kamealoha scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Pope is breathing heavily.
Kamealoha thuds a left hand into Pope's body.
Pope gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Kamealoha scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pope doesn't seem bothered though.

Kamealoha lands a big right hand that sends Pope crashing to the mat! Kamealoha stays standing though and waves Pope back to his feet!
Kamealoha measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Pope! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
