Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcu Bilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). D comes to the cage accompanied by Nine Inch Nails - The Great Destroyer. Big D had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Big D!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcu Bilo!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D fails to land the takedown.
D will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

D closes the distance and clinches.
D wants a takedown.
Bilo tries to pull guard but D won't allow it.
Bilo tries to land knees in the clinch but D avoids the damage to the body.
D tries for a takedown. No joy.

D lands with a short shot to the head.

D throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bilo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

D drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and D jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
D is breathing heavily.

D has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bilo wants to stand up but D is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bilo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bilo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with D. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

D sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bilo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
D tries to lock up and control but Bilo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Bilo manages to capitalize on a mistake by D to take his back!

Bilo drops an elbow to the side of D's head.

Bilo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming D to the mat! D manages to get full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

D has his foot on Bilo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bilo works his way back into a safe position though.

D drops back looking for a leg! Bilo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bilo manages to kick D off! D jumps back into Bilo's guard.

D postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bilo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of D, into his guard.

Bilo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bilo is in close to D's body, working some short punches and elbows.

D has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bilo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
D tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bilo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bilo decides to stand back up.
Bilo throws a head kick that half lands.
Bilo thuds his shin into the meat of D's side.
Bilo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of D's head.
A nice leg kick lands there from Bilo.
D tries for a takedown but Bilo circles away easily
and Bilo counters with a series of strikes. D will be more careful next time no doubt.

Marcu Bilo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bilo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bilo avoids a punch combination nicely.
D has his takedown stuffed
and Bilo counters with a series of strikes. D will be more careful next time no doubt.

Bilo clinches up against the cage.

D is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bilo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip D to the mat. D regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
D controls Bilo momentarily but Bilo frees himself.
Bilo controls from within his opponent's guard.
Let's hope that Bilo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

D is trying to maintain the position but Bilo is very close to passing his half guard.

Bilo gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

D scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
D takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bilo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

D winds up and cracks Bilo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

D is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Bilo still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Bilo has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

D has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bilo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for D.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

D is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bilo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bilo's back!
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards D.
D scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Bilo is looking for a way out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bilo is trying to get back to his feet but D has full control of the position and if anything, Bilo has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Even with his hooks in, D manages to miss with strikes from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


D gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bilo makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Bilo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Bilo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. D sprawls well initially but Bilo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
D is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bilo can't escape the position.
D postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bilo looks a forlorn figure.

D working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bilo turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips D off and cradles Bilo's limp body as D celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 5, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Big D!
