The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wildslap has his takedown stuffed
enabling Stevenson to counter with a crisp jab.
Wildslap fails with the takedown
and Stevenson counters with a one-two to the body.
Stevenson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Stevenson counters with a nice body kick.

Stevenson lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Wildslap sprawling to the canvas. Stevenson follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Wildslap hang on?


It looks like Rancho Wildslap has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wildslap takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stevenson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Stevenson.

Wildslap drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stevenson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Wildslap's coach down at Tayne's 4d3d3d3 Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wildslap's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Stevenson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Wildslap backwards.
Stevenson is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Stevenson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Stevenson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Teofilo Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rancho Wildslap.

Wildslap is looking to take a break and control but Stevenson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stevenson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Stevenson wants to control but Wildslap postures up.

Wildslap is looking to take a break and control but Stevenson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stevenson tries to bench press Wildslap off him but Wildslap keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Stevenson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Wildslap is staying tight to Stevenson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stevenson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Wildslap.
Wildslap happy to just control the position for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Wildslap gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Stevenson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wildslap swats away the attempt to clinch by Stevenson.
Wildslap is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You can see the frustration on Stevenson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Stevenson is trying to stand back up.
Wildslap tries to keep control of the position but Stevenson is staying busy.

Wildslap working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Stevenson is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Wildslap has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Stevenson taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rancho Wildslap!
After winning the bout, Rancho Wildslap thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
