And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wictor Johanessburgson!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Upchuk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johanessburgson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Upchuk swivels and escapes.
Upchuk lands with a hook. Johanessburgson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Upchuk doesn't manage to clinch there - Johanessburgson circles away.
Upchuk misses with a series of wild punches.
Upchuk fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Upchuk shoots in for a double leg but Johanessburgson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lathem Upchuk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johanessburgson throws a leg kick but Upchuk sees it coming and checks it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johanessburgson looks for the body kick but Upchuk saw that one coming.
Upchuk fails with the takedown.
Upchuk shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johanessburgson defends it nicely.

Johanessburgson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johanessburgson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johanessburgson wants it to stay on the feet.
Johanessburgson moves out of range of the body kick from Upchuk.
Upchuk closes the distance and clinches up with Johanessburgson, looking for a takedown. Upchuk pushes Johanessburgson against the cage but Johanessburgson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Johanessburgson unleashes a big counter combination but Upchuk bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Johanessburgson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Upchuk quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Johanessburgson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Upchuk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Johanessburgson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Let's hope that Johanessburgson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Upchuk flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Upchuk has closed the distance and engaged Johanessburgson in a clinch.

Johanessburgson manages to pull guard.
Johanessburgson keeping moving, preventing Upchuk from controlling successfully.

Upchuk won't allow Johanessburgson to sweep him here.

Johanessburgson looking for a triangle here. Upchuk is fighting it but it looks tight! Johanessburgson pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Upchuk is tapping out - this one is all over!
