Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thor Evanson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evanson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Hancock counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hancock.

Hancock goes for a double leg but Evanson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Evanson continues to drive forward.

Hancock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evanson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hancock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Evanson can do to turn this around?
Hancock tries to pull guard but Evanson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Evanson has had enough of the clinch but Hancock keeps him there for the moment.

Evanson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hancock avoids it really well and circles away.
Hancock moves to clinch but Evanson breaks away
and Evanson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Evanson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Hancock's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Evanson dives in looking to finish as Hancock flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Evanson's strikes! Evanson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Hancock's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Hancock was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
