Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Carlo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Four Loko!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Loko manages to avoid it.
Loko appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Loko tries a head kick but it misses.
Loko lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Alvarez at a distance.
Loko scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Alvarez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alvarez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Loko misses with a kick to the body.
Alvarez looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Alvarez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Loko tries to clinch but Alvarez is having none of it.

Alvarez lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Alvarez scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Alvarez paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Loko tries a head kick but it misses.
Loko throws a jab when Alvarez was well out of range.
Alvarez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Alvarez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Loko.
Loko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alvarez throws a head kick that half lands.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alvarez, as that shot connected.
Loko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Loko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alvarez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alvarez tries to counter by clinching up but Loko breaks away and moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Donk. Alvarez catches Loko right on the button with a cross.
Loko throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Loko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alvarez takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Alvarez misses with an uppercut
and Loko counters with a three punch combo that has Alvarez backing up. Alvarez nods at Loko to acknowledge the strikes.
Alvarez throws a hook to the side of Loko's head but Loko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Loko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Loko misses with a few strikes there.
A little feinted left hand from Alvarez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Alvarez throws a lazy right hand but Loko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A lazy left from Alvarez finds it's target.

Loko moves into the clinch successfully.
Alvarez lands a body punch in the clinch.

Alvarez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Loko checks a leg kick.
Alvarez is looking to land body kicks.
Alvarez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Loko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez drops down looking for a counter takedown but Loko sprawls and moves away.
Alvarez misses with a looping right.
Loko cracks Alvarez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Loko connects with an inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alvarez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alvarez throws a hook but Loko blocks it.

Loko clinches with his opponent.
Loko is trying to break the clinch but Alvarez has him pressed against the cage.
Alvarez using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Loko has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Alvarez creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Alvarez breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Four Loko will probably get the nod.
That's time! Alvarez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Loko pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Loko takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Alvarez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Loko wants to clinch.
Loko's coach down at Rape Academy (7 elite, 6 2x elite) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Loko's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Loko connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Loko closes the distance and pushes Alvarez back into the cage.
Alvarez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Loko's efforts to push away.
Alvarez wants to stall.

Alvarez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Loko is defending well for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alvarez's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Alvarez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Loko is looking to clinch but Alvarez is avoiding it.

Loko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alvarez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It looked like Alvarez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Loko fakes the leg kick and cracks Alvarez in the body.

Four Loko seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Alvarez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Loko.
Loko lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Alvarez takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alvarez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Loko has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Loko and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Four Loko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Loko misses with a low kick.
Alvarez avoids the body shot from Loko.
Alvarez feinted with a counter takedown.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Loko.
Loko moves to clinch but Alvarez breaks away
and Alvarez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Loko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alvarez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Loko keeps Alvarez at a distance using the push kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Four Loko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Loko bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Loko scores with a head kick. Alvarez tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Loko thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Alvarez if he has to take too many more of those.

Four Loko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

That kick from Loko tenderised Alvarez's leg. Alvarez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Alvarez will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loko is looking for a sweep.
Loko pushes Alvarez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alvarez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Alvarez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Loko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Alvarez wants to pass the guard but Loko is defending well.

Loko is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alvarez pulls his head out easily.

Loko is staying active underneath Alvarez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Alvarez seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Loko is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Carlo Alvarez spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
