Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ali Roumani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patricky Freire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ali Roumani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patricky Freire!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freire connects with a crisp jab.
Freire throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Roumani steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Freire.
Freire has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Roumani lands an overhand right.
Freire tries to move into range but Roumani moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Freire pushes Roumani away with a front kick.
Roumani loads up on a big right hand but Freire slips the punch.
Freire scores with a jab to the head.

Roumani looking to score a takedown here. Freire is defending well but Roumani drives through and ends up in Freire's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Freire looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Roumani avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Freire being controlled here, momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Freire wants to hit a switch here but Roumani passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Freire there!

Roumani tries to control but Freire wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Freire sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Freire tries to roll over but Roumani keeps him under control.

Freire is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roumani pulls his head out easily.
Roumani lands strikes from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roumani with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Roumani is trying to control the action in half guard but Freire is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Roumani looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Freire regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roumani advances position into side control!
Freire is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Roumani is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Freire knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Freire manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Freire works his way to full guard. Good work.
Roumani postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Roumani is pushing down on Freire's leg trying to pass to half guard. Freire is fighting to maintain full guard but Roumani has managed to sneak the leg through.

Freire looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Roumani is nestled in close to Freire, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Freire is refusing to be controlled, as Roumani sits in half guard.
Roumani working Freire over with strikes.
Roumani takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Freire is trying to maintain the position but Roumani is very close to passing his half guard.
Freire has hold of Roumani's hands but Roumani slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Freire manages to get to full guard.
Roumani wants to control from the top but Freire keeps moving.

Freire had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Roumani defends it easily.
Roumani with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ali Roumani dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Roumani connects with a crisp jab.

Oooh a lovely combination from Freire sends Roumani down but not out. Freire dives into side control looking to finish.


Roumani is rocked!
Freire trying to control the position but Roumani is working away.
Oh Roumani is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Freire tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Roumani seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Freire is looking to take a break and control but Roumani is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Roumani is trying to control Freire's posture but Freire avoids it.
Roumani is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Freire is pressing down on Roumani's thigh, looking to free his foot. Roumani is holding on for now.

Roumani is trying to get back to full guard.
Freire wants to free his trapped foot but Roumani is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Roumani looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Roumani is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Freire has latched onto it... Big trouble! Freire pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Roumani is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Freire!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Patricky Freire!
An out of breath Patricky Freire thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
