The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balagtas swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Beltzer.
Beltzer takes one to the side of the head.
Beltzer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Balagtas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Balagtas tries to get out of the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Beltzer in particular looking to stall.

Beltzer has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Balagtas is trying to keep an underhook but Beltzer manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Donny Beltzer has got the better of the ground game so far.

Beltzer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Balagtas is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Balagtas bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ernie Balagtas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beltzer looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Beltzer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Let's hope that Beltzer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donny Beltzer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Beltzer goes for a double leg but Balagtas avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Balagtas continues to drive forward.
Balagtas jabs Beltzer to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Balagtas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Beltzer's head backwards.
Beltzer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Balagtas scores with a nice head shot.
Balagtas connects with a single shot there.

Beltzer clinches with his opponent.

Beltzer gets control of Balagtas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Beltzer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Beltzer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balagtas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Beltzer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Beltzer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Beltzer wants to stand and escape but Balagtas is having none of it.
Beltzer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nice straight punches there by Balagtas. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Balagtas.

Beltzer clinches up with Balagtas and pushes him back against the cage.
Beltzer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Balagtas after a bit of a struggle.
Balagtas wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Balagtas is trying to maintain a safe position but Beltzer gets an underhook and turns Balagtas into the cage.

Balagtas circles away from the clinch attempt.
Balagtas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Balagtas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Beltzer doesn't seem bothered though.

Beltzer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Balagtas defends it nicely.
Ernie Balagtas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donny Beltzer.
