PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monsun Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatti Tasapaksu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tasapaksu comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Motorhead - Smiling Like A Killer kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Monsun Moon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tatti Tasapaksu!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tasapaksu misses the body punch
and Moon counters with a one-two to the body.
Tasapaksu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tasapaksu throws a leg kick but Moon sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Moon drops down looking for a counter takedown but Tasapaksu sprawls and moves away.
Tasapaksu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tasapaksu throws a hook to the side of Moon's head but Moon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Moon appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Moon staying out of range there.

Tasapaksu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Moon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tasapaksu sees it coming and defends easily.
Tasapaksu is looking for a sweep. Moon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Moon is pressing down on Tasapaksu's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tasapaksu is holding on for now.

Tasapaksu has hold of Moon's hands but Moon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Moon lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That was a close round but I would say that Monsun Moon will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A quick step to the side and Moon tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Moon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tasapaksu's guard.

Moon is looking for a kimura but Tasapaksu is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Moon to get the leverage.

Tasapaksu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Tasapaksu squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Moon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tasapaksu slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Moon here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Moon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Tasapaksu is rocked!
Tasapaksu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Moon postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Tasapaksu in real trouble here! The ref calls for Tasapaksu to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Monsun Moon!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Monsun Moon waved his t-shirt featuring Sun-Tzu's logo in front of the cameras.
