Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Harrison had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Jones!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harrison has managed to clinch.
Harrison lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Jones is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Harrison tries a body shot but Jones blocks it.
Jones misses with a hook from the clinch.
Harrison effectively controlling the action here.

Jones is trying to trip Harrison. He has hold of a leg but Harrison is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jones persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harrison shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jones has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Harrison has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Jones feints the counter takedown.
Adam Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harrison closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.

Harrison decides to pull guard.
Harrison has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position.
Harrison continues to stall.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Harrison fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.

Harrison is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Harrison manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Jones keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Harrison avoids a wild elbow strike from Jones.

Harrison pulls Jones into guard.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Harrison is retaining full guard.
Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Harrison is keeping the position.
Harrison can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones stands up over Harrison, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Harrison's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Harrison. Harrison maintains the clinch.
Harrison tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.

It looks like Adam Harrison has been cut.
Harrison has a couple of punches blocked by Jones.
Harrison throws a punch but it's blocked by Jones.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Harrison.
Harrison misses with a body punch.
Harrison is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Harrison wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Harrison on his heels. He'll look to pass Harrison's guard now, I'm sure.
Harrison wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Harrison has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Harrison was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Harrison manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Harrison tries to land knees in the clinch but Jones avoids the damage to the body.

Jones pulls Harrison into guard.

Jones is working an open guard so Harrison takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jones moves into the clinch successfully.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Harrison pulls guard effortlessly.
Harrison lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Harrison gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.
Harrison is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
And Jones tries to counter it with a takedown but Harrison pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Harrison makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones won't allow Harrison to sweep him here.

Harrison looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Harrison preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Harrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Adam Harrison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Harrison tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Harrison tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Harrison tries to escape but Jones has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Jones really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Harrison.

Adam Harrison showed his dominance in that final round.
