Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phil Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Inferi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Marco Inferi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Inferi with that takedown attempt.

Dixon darts in and clinches Inferi up against the ropes.
Dixon prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dixon tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Dixon has Inferi pressed against the ropes.
Dixon has had enough of the clinch but Inferi keeps him there for the moment.

Dixon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Inferi moves out of range as Dixon strikes.
Dixon throws a series of punches but Inferi avoids them all with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Inferi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dixon pinned against the cage. Dixon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Phil Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Inferi.
Dixon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Inferi manages to avoid it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dixon wants to improve his position but Inferi is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Inferi blocks a jab.
Dixon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Inferi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Inferi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dixon swivels and escapes.
Dixon fails with an attempt to clinch.

Dixon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Inferi moves into full guard.
Inferi has momentary wrist control but Dixon slips an elbow through the middle.

Inferi is staying active underneath Dixon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Marco Inferi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Phil Dixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Dixon or perhaps it was just good defense by Inferi which made him look bad.

Dixon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Marco Inferi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Inferi shoots in looking for a takedown. Dixon tries to sprawl out of it but Inferi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Dixon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Dixon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Inferi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Inferi advances nicely into full mount.

Dixon wants to control but Inferi is having none of it.

The referee warns Dixon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Inferi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Marco Inferi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Inferi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dixon gets his way!

Inferi covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Dixon is not going to allow Inferi to sit and survive in this position.
