The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garbrandt throws the left hand but Mendes avoids the punch easily.
A nice side step and Mendes releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Garbrandt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mendes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Garbrandt.

Mendes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Garbrandt throws out the jab.

Garbrandt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Garbrandt looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mendes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Garbrandt sends Mendes crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Garbrandt is motioning to the referee to let Mendes up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Garbrandt knocks out Mendes with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Garbrandt before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Garbrandt picks up the big W with a huge KO!
