Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roosevelt Chen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Dermish!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen throws a body punch but Dermish moves out of range.
Chen loads up on a big right hand but Dermish slips the punch.
Dermish throws out a counter right but Chen avoids it with no problem.
Dermish shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chen defends it nicely.
Chen really is a fat lump.
Chen stuffs the takedown attempt from Dermish. Dermish gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chen looks to score with a jab to the body but Dermish is just out of range.
Dermish darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dermish seems to be working for a kimura but Chen defends the submission attempt.
Chen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dermish on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dermish is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dermish.
Dermish is trying to work for a kimura but Chen is defending well.
Dermish has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Helsinki. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Dermish passes to full mount!
Dermish swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
