PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aoki King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Wilder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I'm on a boat. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aoki King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Freddy Wilder!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Wilder.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wilder stuffs the takedown.
A big right from Wilder misses.
Wilder throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
King gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wilder.

King decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wilder is defending against the submission attempts here by King.
King prevents Wilder from improving his position.

King is trying to work for a kimura but Wilder is defending well.
King is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Wilder is trying to reverse the position but instead King has taken his back - oops!
King lands strikes to the head.
Wilder is trying to break free.
King lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Wilder hold on?!
Wilder looking very determined here, making life difficult for King.
King scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
King has the hooks in. Wilder is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
King scores with strikes from the back.
You can see the frustration on Wilder's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The referee is taking a good look at Wilder as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from King!
King is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Wilder looking very determined here, making life difficult for King.
Wilder rolls, trying to escape but King keeps control of the position.
King doesn't have the hooks in and Wilder manages to turn into his guard.
Wilder looks gassed!
King controls Wilder momentarily but Wilder frees himself.
Wilder tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.

King is trying to control the position but Wilder postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilder which made him look bad.
Freddy Wilder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wilder cracks King with a good jab.
Wilder tests King's chin there with a solid looking shot.

King drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wilder is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Wilder looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

King passes easily into side control. Nice work.

King working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Wilder tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wilder is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

King thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aoki King dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

King misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wilder lands a nice shot to the body.
Wilder comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
King shoots in but no luck this time.
Wilder lands the left hand.
Aoki King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wilder scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Wilder scores with a nice body kick.
Wilder cracks King with a good jab.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wilder swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aoki King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Donk. Wilder catches King right on the button with a cross.
King needs to keep his hands up - Wilder had a free shot at his head there.
Wilder scores with a jab to the head.
Wilder throws a good cross that connects.
Wilder jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

King is rocked!
King slips a jab from Wilder.
Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wilder loads up on a big right hand but King slips the punch.
King seems to have got his legs back now.
Wilder with a nice cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
King takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wilder drops King with a straight right hand, right on the button! Wilder follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
