Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Baby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hidehiko Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vegas Baby but Vegas Baby pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sakuraba slips under a jab.
Vegas Baby pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vegas Baby throws a right and a left that Sakuraba avoids nicely.
Vegas Baby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sakuraba tries to move into range but Vegas Baby moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Sakuraba counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vegas Baby!
Vegas Baby wants to control but Sakuraba is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sakuraba is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vegas Baby asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Vegas Baby swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sakuraba is now in Vegas Baby's guard. A big mistake from Vegas Baby there, giving up the dominant position!

Sakuraba thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Vegas Baby has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sakuraba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sakuraba is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Vegas Baby escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sakuraba gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hidehiko Sakuraba will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
