Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Johnson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nathan Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Johnson.
It looked like Burke was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Johnson.
Johnson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Burke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Burke closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Burke postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Burke is out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson has his foot on Burke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burke works his way back into a safe position though.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burke defends it easily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Jimmy Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Johnson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Burke can't fight it off and eventually Johnson manages to take the fight to the floor. Burke looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jimmy Johnson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Johnson closes the distance and pushes Burke back into the cage.
