PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Stoker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Swanson's choice of entrance music: The Devil You Know. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Edward Stoker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Swanson!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson swings for the body but Stoker moves out of range.
Stoker ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Swanson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stoker moves away.
Swanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stoker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Swanson's corner calls for a 1-2. Swanson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Swanson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Stoker avoids a kick to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Stoker on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Swanson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stoker's hands.
Stoker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stoker has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Swanson.
Stoker checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Stoker misses the shot to the body.
Stoker throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Swanson's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Swanson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Swanson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stoker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Swanson scrambles back to his feet.

Stoker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Swanson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Swanson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stoker on his heels. He'll look to pass Stoker's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Swanson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Edward Stoker will probably get the nod.

John Swanson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Swanson throws a low kick, looking for Stoker's leg but Stoker calmly moves out of range.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Swanson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Edward Stoker!
Our winner, Edward Stoker, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
