Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sloane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Sloane!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnson takes a kick to the side of the head.

Johnson throws a head kick but Sloane moves out of range.

Johnson clinches with his opponent.
Sloane throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Johnsons head.
Sloane misses with a knee to the head.
Sloane lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sloane pushes Johnson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloane scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Johnson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Roger Johnson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Johnson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sloane is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sloane has escaped and now he's on top!

Sloane stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sloane is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sloane creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sloane tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet here but Sloane is keeping cool and he's managed to take Johnson's back.

Sloane is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Sloane somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Johnson tries to roll but Sloane sticks to his back.
Sloane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson is trying to stand back up.

Johnson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Sloane.

Johnson wants to clinch up but Sloane keeps it at a distance.

Sloane is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing.

Johnson stands and throws Sloane's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sloane is looking to reverse the position.

Johnson tries to advance to mount but Sloane denies him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sloane has managed to clinch.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sloane gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sloane paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sloane swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Johnson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sloane gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sloane lands a hook that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sloane as Johnson tries to tie him up.

Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Sloane is retaining full guard.

Sloane is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Johnson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Frank Sloane seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Sloane gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson.
Johnson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sloane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sloane takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Johnson swings for the body but Sloane moves out of range.
Sloane explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Despite the aggression on Sloane's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sloane's waist but Sloane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sloane is pulling down on Johnson's head. It's preventing any offense from Johnson, at least for the moment.

Sloane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Sloane counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Sloane connects with a nasty looking knee right to Johnson's face.
Sloane is trying to pull guard but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Sloane lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Sloane.
Sloane fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Sloane manages to break the clinch.
Sloane misses with a double jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sloane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sloane is struggling to control the position.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sloane walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sloane.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Sloane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sloane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
