The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roman.

Johnson gets a double leg takedown into Roman's guard.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Roman is retaining full guard.
Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Roman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.
Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Johnson is working Roman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson loads up on a big left hand. Roman felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Johnson looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Roman can't hide his disappointment, as Johnson celebrates the victory.
