Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody Garza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Iron!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iron goes for a double leg but Garza avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Garza continues to drive forward.
Iron looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Iron misses with a low kick as Garza jumps back.
As Iron tries to get set, Garza tries to push him back and clinch up but Iron manages to avoid the attempt.
Iron misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Garza throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Iron counters with a shoot takedown. Garza fights it but they end up in guard.
Iron is looking to work some ground and pound but Garza has wrist control.
Garza preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Garza throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Iron's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Iron is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Garza striking off his back but it's not causing Iron any problems.
Iron passes Garza's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garza is trying to control but can't.
Garza is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Iron looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Iron has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Iron's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
It looks like Iron might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Garza looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Garza really is a fat lump.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Iron scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Iron is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Iron feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Iron lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.


Cody Garza's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Garza might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Iron distracts Garza with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.


Garza is rocked!
Garza has momentary wrist control but Iron slips an elbow through the middle.
Oh Garza is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


Jeez, Cody Garza's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cody Garza's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ted Iron!
