PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darren Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivo Koljeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ivo Koljeno!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Watson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Koljeno enables Martin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Koljeno manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 25 Beasts that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Koljeno bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martin's guard.

Martin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Koljeno drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Martin dives on top into guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Martin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Martin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Koljeno's guard.
Koljeno is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Martin dives into side control.

Martin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Koljeno can do to turn this around?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big shot lands for Martin! That's hurt Koljeno! Will he recover? Martin fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darren Martin!
A very excited looking Darren Martin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
