Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Nunez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Jackson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyson Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Nunez looking to score a takedown here. Jackson is defending well but Nunez drives through and ends up in Jackson's guard.
Jackson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Nunez drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Nunez off! Nunez jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Jackson is pulling down on Nunez's head. It's preventing any offense from Nunez, at least for the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Nunez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Nunez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jackson on his heels. He'll look to pass Jackson's guard now, I'm sure.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Nunez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nunez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
What's Nunez going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nunez keeps working.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jackson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Jackson controls the position.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nunez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Nunez tries to escape but Jackson is in control.

Tyson Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nunez tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Jackson manages to move to mount!
Nunez is squirming around, avoiding Jackson's attempts to control the action.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nunez can't escape the position.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jackson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Jackson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nunez is desperately trying to improve his position but Jackson has a good base and remains in mount.

Jackson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nunez haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Nunez regains half guard.

Tyson Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
