The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

As Maidana tries to get set, Jimenez tries to push him back and clinch up but Maidana manages to avoid the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jimenez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maidana was covering up waiting for the punch and Jimenez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jimenez is defended easily by Maidana.

That was a close round but I would say that Charly Jimenez will probably get the nod.
