Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coty Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leon Valentine has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Coty Hall's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Coty Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leon Valentine!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine stuffs the takedown attempt from Hall. Hall gets slowly back to his feet.
Hall with a jab.
Valentine misses with a series of wild punches.

Hall clinches up with Valentine and pushes him back against the cage.

Valentine manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valentine misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Valentine is fending him off so far but Hall persists. Nope, Valentine circles away and we're back to standing.
Valentine keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Coty Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valentine sprawls well. Valentine wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hall gets slowly back to his feet.

Valentine clinches up against the cage.
Valentine just leaning against Hall, taking a breather.
Valentine's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Valentine receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

Valentine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Valentine throws out a leg kick but Hall moves out of range and Valentine only half commits.
Hall lands an overhand right.
Valentine swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Valentine pushes Hall up against the cage in a clinch.
Come on Valentine - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Hall tries to break the clinch but Valentine is controlling the position.
Valentine is struggling to control the position.
Hall drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hall manages to pull guard.
Hall wants to control the position but Valentine says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Valentine looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hall wants to control but Valentine is keeping busy.
Hall pushes Valentine off looking to stand but Valentine dives back in and keeps control.
Hall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Valentine looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Valentine keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Valentine is pressing down on Hall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hall is holding on for now.
Hall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hall gets back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Valentine slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hall looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hall trying to keep a closed guard but Valentine is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leon Valentine dominated that round.
That's time! Hall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valentine's waist but Valentine gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hall off to one side.
Coty Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Valentine moves into the clinch.
Valentine manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Hall blocks an elbow strike from Valentine.
Hall is looking to break free of the clinch but Valentine has double underhooks.
Hall is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Valentine breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Valentine scores with a takedown into Hall's guard.
Hall is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Valentine is controlling him.

Hall pulls Valentine in close to prevent any damage.
Hall working a defensive guard here.
Valentine tries to free his leg and advance position but Hall is retaining full guard.
Valentine controlling from the top position.

Hall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Valentine working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Valentine won't allow Hall to sweep him here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Valentine is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valentine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hall somewhat.

Valentine drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hall working a defensive guard here.
Valentine stays in close to Hall's body and controls the position.
Valentine trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Hall manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Valentine is pulling down on Hall's head to control his posture.
Valentine lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hall trying to strike off his back.

Valentine controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Hall looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Valentine has picked Hall up and slammed him! Hall can't keep hold of the triangle and Valentine manages to pass to side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Valentine tries to move to full mount but Hall actually manages to regain half guard.
Still in half guard, Valentine seems content to control.
Valentine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Valentine passes the guard and advances to mount!
Valentine has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hall is desperately trying to improve his position but Valentine has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leon Valentine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Valentine closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hall did well to prevent Valentine getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Valentine connects with a nice short shot to Hall's temple.
Valentine is thwarting Hall's attempts to control the position.
Hall is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Valentine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Valentine is controlling the pace.
Hall is trying to maintain the position but Valentine is very close to passing his half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valentine stops Hall from getting back to his feet.
Valentine perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Valentine is continuing to stall.

Hall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Valentine but Valentine pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hall dives in and grabs Valentine's left leg, looking for a takedown. Valentine pushes down on Hall's head and hops out.
Valentine now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Hall misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Leon Valentine is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Valentine is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valentine is one step ahead there.
Valentine is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Hall controls Valentine momentarily but Valentine frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Valentine's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Valentine manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hall on his heels. He'll look to pass Hall's guard now, I'm sure.
Valentine won't allow Hall to get back to his feet.
Valentine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Leon Valentine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Valentine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Leon Valentine decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
