Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Walter Mattos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mattos throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mattos with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Machida looks to score with a jab to the body but Mattos is just out of range.
Mattos throws a leg kick but Machida sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Machida misses with the combination.
Mattos pivots, looking for a leg kick but Machida is out of range and Mattos settles back down.

Walter Mattos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Machida with the counter takedown but Mattos avoids it easily.

so Machida counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Machida stops Mattos from standing up.
Machida is standing up over Mattos. Mattos looks to escape but Machida dives into side control.

Mattos tries to buck Machida off but Machida is having none of it.
Machida advances to full mount.

Machida working for a submission but Mattos is keeping him at bay.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Machida looking to control and managing it successfully.
Machida wants to control the pace but Mattos is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machida tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Machida has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mattos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mattos tries to get out of the position.

Mattos has left one of his arms exposed and Machida doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Mattos screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
