Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Du Toit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danok Linus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Du Toit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danok Linus!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Du Toit dives in and scores a takedown into Linus's guard.
Du Toit looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Du Toit stays in close to Linus's body and controls the position.
Linus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Linus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Du Toit looking to pass the guard.
Linus is trying to control the position but Du Toit postures up.
Du Toit trying to control but Linus is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Du Toit tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Du Toit walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Linus checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Linus wants to stand up but Du Toit is controlling him.

Linus trying to keep a closed guard but Du Toit is proving a slippery customer.
Du Toit is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Du Toit throws an elbow that misses. Linus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Du Toit's guard. Nice move by Linus!

We've been informed that Linus has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Du Toit tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Linus swivels and escapes.

Du Toit wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Linus fails to pull guard.
Linus fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Roy Du Toit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danok Linus.
Linus tries to pull guard but Du Toit won't allow it.
Linus wants to take the fight to the mat but Du Toit manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Du Toit is working Linus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Du Toit makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Du Toit wants to control from the top but Linus keeps moving.
Linus is looking to stand up but Du Toit isn't so interested in that idea.

Du Toit takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Du Toit shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Du Toit missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Du Toit is looking for a kimura but Linus is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Du Toit to get the leverage.
Du Toit not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Du Toit prevents Linus from improving his position.
Du Toit prevents Linus from standing back up.

Du Toit working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Linus's thigh. Linus counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Du Toit will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Linus wants to get back to his feet but Du Toit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Du Toit connects with a couple of short punches.
Du Toit throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Linus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Du Toit trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Linus wants to stand but Du Toit is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Linus misses with a few strikes there.
Du Toit tries to clinch but Linus moves out of range.

A close round but Danok Linus will probably get the nod.

Du Toit pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Linus tries to close the distance and clinch but Du Toit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Linus fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Du Toit drops his hands momentarily and Linus takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A looping hook to the body misses from Linus. Du Toit does a little dance to reset his feet.
Linus is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Linus tries to clinch there but Du Toit circles away.

Linus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Du Toit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Du Toit throws a big elbow that misses.
Linus lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Du Toit wants to stand up but Linus is controlling him.
Du Toit not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Du Toit is trying to keep Linus in close.
Linus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Du Toit swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Linus might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Du Toit haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Linus tries to clinch up but Du Toit circles away and keeps his distance.
Du Toit lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Linus looks to throw the jab but Du Toit is out of range.
Du Toit has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Du Toit there as he acknowledges the shot.

Du Toit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Roy Du Toit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Du Toit throws a strike but Linus avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Du Toit takes a jab right on the kisser.
Linus tries to clinch but Du Toit is having none of it.
Linus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Du Toit walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Linus might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A slapping body kick lands there for Linus.
Danok Linus seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Du Toit uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Linus.
Du Toit swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Du Toit steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Linus.
Du Toit is looking to counter punch.
Linus is looking to clinch but Du Toit is avoiding it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Linus.
No joy there for Linus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Linus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Du Toit throws a right and a left that Linus avoids nicely.
Linus tries to clinch up but Du Toit circles away and keeps his distance.
Roy Du Toit is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Du Toit slaps away a takedown attempt from Linus, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Linus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Linus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Du Toit circles away quickly and effectively.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Linus!
Du Toit shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Linus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

And that's the end of the fight!
Danok Linus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Linus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Danok Linus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
