PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Schaefer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sims comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman . Schaefer has chosen The Bending by Hopesfall as his entrance music. Alan Schaefer told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sims wants to clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schaefer.

Schaefer stalks Sims and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sims's face. Sims staggers backwards, shaken.

Sims postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schaefer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sims, into his guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sims can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Schaefer controls the pace.

Despite being in the dominant position, Alan Schaefer just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sims. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Well Schaefer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
