Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Satoru Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Bellafonte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Takada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Bellafonte!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takada lands with a straight right. Bellafonte didn't see that one coming.

Takada forces Bellafonte back against the cage and clinches.
Takada misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bellafonte lands with a left to the head.
Takada misses with a punch to the body.
Takada lands a nice uppercut.
Takada digs a right hand underneath Bellafonte's ribcage. Bellafonte let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Takada gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Takada pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Takada lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Takada makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Bellafonte jumps guard but Takada stands there with Bellafonte around his waist. Bellafonte gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Takada blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Takada blocks an uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bellafonte pulls guard effortlessly.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takada loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Takada controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Takada's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Takada is working Bellafonte over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Bellafonte tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bellafonte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Takada.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Takada drops Bellafonte with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bellafonte looks back up at him and smiles so Takada waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Bellafonte is rocked!


It looks like Jon Bellafonte has been cut.
Takada lands a brutal uppercut that launches Bellafonte off his feet! Bellafonte tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Satoru Takada!
