Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deair Conan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gates has chosen Hell Song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gates has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gates ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gates lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Gates avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gates stuffs the takedown attempt from Conan. Conan gets slowly back to his feet.
It seemed like Gates was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Conan or perhaps it was just good defense by Gates, which made it look bad.
As Conan backs off Gates throws a huge counter combo but Conan manages to avoid it all.
Gates throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Conan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conan tries for a takedown but Gates sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

It looked like Conan was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gates.

Conan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gates napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gates sneaks out the side door and pushes Conan away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Deair Conan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mason Gates seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Conan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gates sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Conan somewhat.

Conan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gates's guard.
