Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Sanford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giulio Verme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alan Sanford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Giulio Verme!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Verme moves into the clinch.
Verme tries to circle away but Sanford has him pinned against the cage.
Sanford wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sanford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sanford misses with an elbow over the top.
Verme comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Alan Sanford has been cut.
Sanford stalling against the cage.

Verme turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Sanford sneaks out the side door and pushes Verme away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Verme rushes Sanford and presses him up against the cage.
Sanford is struggling to control the position.

Sanford breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Verme feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sanford has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Verme has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Verme has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sanford uses from the top position.

Sanford gets to his feet. Verme looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Verme closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanford quickly recovers to half guard.

Sanford kicks Verme off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Verme takes the fight into the clinch.
Sanford wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Verme creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Verme tries to break free but Sanford pushes him back against the cage.

Sanford pulls Verme into guard.

Verme throws a sloppy strike and Sanford has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Verme is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Sanford!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alan Sanford!
