The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mbia fails with the takedown.

Mbia gets a takedown into half guard.
Chase tries to kick Mbia off but Mbia keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mbia not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Mbia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chase does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Chase is trying to get back to full guard.
Chase is looking to control Mbia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chase avoid being mounted?

Chase has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Mbia escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Mbia!

Chase is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Chase throws a series of punches but Mbia avoids them all with ease.
Mbia fails to land the takedown.
Chase tries to clinch but Mbia moves out of range.
Chase throws a one two combo.
Chase paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Mbia moves into range and clinches up with Chase.

Mbia pulls Chase into guard.
Chase controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mbia has a closed guard, preventing Chase from standing up.
Mbia is breathing heavily.

Chase postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mbia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chase, into his guard.
Mbia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Chase is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Chase wants to sweep but no luck.
Mbia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chase is keeping the position for now.

Chase had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mbia is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chase Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mbia's back instead.

Mbia really is a fat lump.
Chase lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Chase.

Mbia is rocked!

Chase is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mbia with him. Mbia is trying to defend but Chase has an arm under the chin now! Mbia grimaces and is forced to tap out!
