PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Justus Sheehan Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannu Haapana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheehan Jr comes into the arena with Breathing blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haapana tries to work over Sheehan Jr's front leg with a kick but Sheehan Jr checks it.
Haapana moves in looking to clinch but Sheehan Jr pushes him off.
Sheehan Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sheehan Jr moves out of range of the leg kick from Haapana.
Haapana wants to land a leg kick but Sheehan Jr is out of range.
Haapana is looking to clinch but Sheehan Jr is avoiding it.
Haapana has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Haapana there as he acknowledges the shot.
Sheehan Jr lands a jab.
Haapana takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sheehan Jr misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haapana does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Haapana gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Haapana takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hannu Haapana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sheehan Jr connects with an inside leg kick.

Haapana clinches.

Haapana struggles to land a body shot inside as Sheehan Jr controls his hands.
Haapana throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Sheehan Jr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sheehan Jr throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Haapana throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Haapana tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sheehan Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sheehan Jr shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Haapana eats them both and turns towards Sheehan Jr to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Hannu Haapana has been cut.
Sheehan Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Haapana tries to counter with a clinch but Sheehan Jr shakes him off and moves away.

Haapana moves into the clinch.
Sheehan Jr blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Sheehan Jr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sheehan Jr avoids the body shot from Haapana.
Sheehan Jr misses with a hook. Haapana ducked under it nicely.
Haapana tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sheehan Jr swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sheehan Jr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sheehan Jr bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Haapana's head backwards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sheehan Jr swats away the attempt to clinch by Haapana.
Sheehan Jr throws a counter high kick but Haapana was just alert enough to avoid it.
Donk. Sheehan Jr catches Haapana right on the button with a cross.
Haapana fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sheehan Jr scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Sheehan Jr slips under a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Sheehan Jr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sheehan Jr clobbers Haapana with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Sheehan Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Haapana was well out of range. Poor timing from Sheehan Jr.
Haapana turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Haapana pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sheehan Jr is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Sheehan Jr lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A low kick from Haapana is predictable there
enabling Sheehan Jr to counter with a crisp jab.

Sheehan Jr throws a nice looking combination but Haapana bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Haapana ducks into an uppercut from Sheehan Jr and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Justus Sheehan Jr started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
