The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maker scores with a jab to the head.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maker throws out a counter right but Evans avoids it with no problem.
Maker swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.
Maker takes a swing at Evans's ribcage but misses.
Maker lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice shot lands for Maker.
Maker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Evans was well out of range. Poor timing from Maker.
Evans looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Evans shoots and misses
and Maker counters with a stiff right hand.
Donk. Maker catches Evans right on the button with a cross.
Maker slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Evans takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maker wants it to stay on the feet.

Evans shoots in and drives through. Maker sprawls well.
Maker lands a nice hook to Evans's body. Evans takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Maker stalks Evans and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Evans's face. Evans staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Paul Evans has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oooooh!!! Maker has knocked Evans down with a huge combo! Maker steps away and waves a wobbly Evans back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Maker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Evans stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Evans takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Maker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A left and a right from Maker both land. Nice combination.

Evans is rocked!
Evans walks into a straight right hand from Maker.
Maker connects with a looping right hand.
Maker lands with an overhand left.
Oh Evans is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Evans drops his hands momentarily and Maker takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A shot to the liver by Maker. Beautiful body shot.
Evans seems to have got his legs back now.

Maker lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Maker is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Evans had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
