Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane The Pain Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Ram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ram has chosen Black Sabbath Iron Man as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shane The Pain Killer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Ram!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Pain Killer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ram preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The Pain Killer drops back looking for a leg! Ram is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ram manages to kick The Pain Killer off! The Pain Killer jumps back into Ram's guard.
Ram wants to sweep but no luck.
The Pain Killer trying to control but Ram is working from the bottom.
The Pain Killer chips away with some ground and pound.
The Pain Killer trying to control but Ram is working from the bottom.
The Pain Killer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Ram is looking for a triangle here but The Pain Killer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The Pain Killer lands a decent elbow from side control.

Ram is not content to let The Pain Killer control the position.
Ram is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ram gets back to half guard.
Ram moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ram working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. The Pain Killer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The Pain Killer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The Pain Killer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ram swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The Pain Killer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ram is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The Pain Killer is really struggling to control Ram but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The Pain Killer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ram is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ram is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ram closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The Pain Killer is looking to reverse the position.
Ram looking to punish the body of his opponent here but The Pain Killer is avoiding damage well.

Ram wants to free his trapped foot but The Pain Killer is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The Pain Killer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The Pain Killer lands a couple of elbows.
Ram bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Pain Killer's guard.

Ram misses with a takedown attempt
and The Pain Killer counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ram's knee momentarily.

The Pain Killer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

so The Pain Killer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ram had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. The Pain Killer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ram Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take The Pain Killer's back instead.
Ram gets his hands free as The Pain Killer looks to control.
The Pain Killer's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Ram's hands.

Ram working for a choke but The Pain Killer is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane The Pain Killer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



The Pain Killer moves into the clinch successfully.
Ram misses with an elbow over the top.
Ram tries for a takedown. No joy.

The Pain Killer works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The Pain Killer stands up from guard. Let's bang!
The Pain Killer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ram takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and The Pain Killer moves into the clinch.

The Pain Killer has picked Ram up - he's going for a ride! The Pain Killer dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ram is breathing heavily.

The Pain Killer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ram is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ram sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
