PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Geebro Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lindomar Targaryen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Geebro Jonson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Lindomar Targaryen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jonson, right into the meat.
Jonson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Jonson throws a chopping leg kick but Targaryen manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Targaryen is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Jonson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Targaryen.

Jonson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Targaryen's hands.
Jonson lands a really nice looking cross but Targaryen seems unphased.
Jonson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jonson. That's going to slow Targaryen down.

Jonson tries to score with a low kick but Targaryen moves his leg out of the way.
And Targaryen tries to counter it with a takedown but Jonson pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Targaryen tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Jonson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Targaryen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Targaryen cracks Jonson with a big right hand but Jonson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jonson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jonson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Targaryen.
Jonson seems to have got his legs back now.

Jonson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Targaryen is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Jonson is hurt! He's hurt bad - Targaryen fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Jonson from any more punishment! Congratulations to Targaryen! Great finish!
