PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drake Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Wren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Drake Bradley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Wren!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bradley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bradley is trying to get an arm triangle but Wren is defending well.
Wren sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Bradley is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wren tries to get to full guard but Bradley has control of the leg.

Bradley is working for a submission of some sort.
Wren flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Bradley is trying to work for a kimura but Wren is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wren scores with a one two! Bradley had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Drake Bradley has been cut.

Wren swats away the attempt to clinch by Bradley.
Alan Wren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bradley is breathing heavily.

Wren closes the distance and pushes Bradley back into the cage.

Wren feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wren thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Wren drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bradley looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bradley looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bradley!
Wren is trying to control Bradley's posture but Bradley avoids it.
Bradley trying to control the position but Wren is working away.
Wren is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Wren tries to roll over but Bradley keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bradley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wren moves into full guard.

Wren escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bradley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wren looking for a guillotine here but Bradley defends easily.
Bradley tries to free his leg and advance position but Wren is retaining full guard.

Bradley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bradley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Wren throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Wren looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Wren has his foot on Bradley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bradley works his way back into a safe position though.

Bradley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wren manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bradley has Wren in his guard.

Bradley throws a jab but it's blocked by Wren.

Wren shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Alan Wren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wren has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
