Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyndon Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bantoo Kumari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyndon Ryan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyndon Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bantoo Kumari!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Kumari with that takedown attempt.
Bantoo Kumari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kumari has closed the distance and engaged Ryan in a clinch.
Ryan blocks an elbow strike.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Kumari jumps guard.
Kumari working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kumari is proving hard to escape from.

Kumari is looking to stand back up but Ryan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kumari.

Ryan decides to stand and escape the position.

Kumari closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ryan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kumari is looking to take a break and control but Ryan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ryan is trying to control Kumari's posture but Kumari avoids it.
Ryan manages to get back to half guard.

Ryan manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kumari keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Kumari misses with a body punch.

Kumari gets control of Ryan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kumari will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Kumari manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Kumari pulls Ryan in close to his closed guard and prevents Ryan from doing any damage or advancing position.

Ryan gets to his feet - Kumari follows without any prompting.

Kumari throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Ryan counters with a three punch combo that has Kumari backing up. Kumari nods at Ryan to acknowledge the strikes.
Kumari misses with a jab to the body
and Ryan counters with a nice body shot.

Kumari fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ryan, pushing him back against the cage.
Ryan drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kumari pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ryan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ryan shoots in but no luck this time.
Kumari avoids the head kick by Ryan.
Kumari fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ryan avoids it really well and circles away.
Kumari looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kumari looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ryan is fending him off so far but Kumari persists. Nope, Ryan circles away and we're back to standing.
Lyndon Ryan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bantoo Kumari.

Kumari throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ryan was covering up waiting for the punch and Kumari finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kumari stops Ryan from standing up.

Ryan manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ryan blocking some punches.
Kumari trying to control the position but instead, Ryan has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kumari into the cage.
Kumari jumps guard but Ryan stands there with Kumari around his waist. Kumari gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kumari breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lyndon Ryan will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Kumari.

Kumari has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kumari tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ryan smiles and moves away.

Kumari clinches up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kumari is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ryan to the mat. Ryan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Ryan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kumari is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryan controls Kumari momentarily but Kumari frees himself.
Ryan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kumari wants to stand but Ryan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kumari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ryan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ryan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kumari presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Ryan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ryan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Ryan keeping moving, preventing Kumari from controlling successfully.
Kumari postures up in Ryan's guard and throws a big left but Ryan blocks it.
Ryan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kumari passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kumari is breathing heavily.

Kumari stands up.
Ryan stuffs the takedown attempt from Kumari. Kumari gets slowly back to his feet.
Lyndon Ryan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bantoo Kumari.

and Ryan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kumari!

Ryan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kumari is trying to control Ryan's posture but Ryan avoids it.

Ryan stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kumari shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ryan defends it nicely.
Ryan seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Kumari throws a leg kick but Ryan sees it coming and moves out of range.
Lyndon Ryan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kumari shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A counter left hand to the body from Ryan misses its target.

Kumari gets caught flat footed, as Ryan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ryan is standing up over Kumari. Kumari looks to escape but Ryan dives into side control.
Lyndon Ryan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Kumari's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ryan wants to control but Kumari is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kumari trying to control but Ryan flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lyndon Ryan dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Kumari moves into the clinch.
Ryan wants a takedown.

Kumari pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
An inside leg kick lands from Kumari.
Kumari shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kumari has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ryan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kumari just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kumari has clasped his hands together around Ryan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Kumari takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ryan explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Kumari closes the distance and pushes Ryan back into the cage.
Kumari changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ryan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kumari shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ryan defends it nicely.

Ryan is looking to counter the offense by Kumari and move into the clinch.

Kumari darts in and clinches Ryan up against the cage.
Kumari fails to pull guard.
Ryan tries to break free but Kumari pushes him back against the cage.

Kumari breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ryan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kumari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kumari gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ryan.
Ryan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kumari avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ryan throws a counter high kick but Kumari was just alert enough to avoid it.
Kumari shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryan as he avoids it easily.
Sloppy strikes from Kumari. Those never looked like landing.
Ryan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kumari manages to circle out of the way.
Ryan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kumari is fending him off so far but Ryan persists. Nope, Kumari circles away and we're back to standing.
Lyndon Ryan is winning the standup battle so far.
Kumari shoots in but Ryan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ryan is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kumari.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ryan is looking to clinch but Kumari is avoiding it.

Bantoo Kumari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ryan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
