And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ismal Rodfers!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beach tries to keep at a distance but Rodfers has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rodfers is trying to pull guard but Beach turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Rodfers jumps guard but Beach turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Rodfers effectively controlling the action here.
Rodfers tries for a takedown but Beach manages to get underhooks.

Rodfers throws his legs up looking for a submission but Beach uses it to pass to side control.
You can see the frustration on Rodfers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beach decides to stand back up. Beach steps back and let's Rodfers get back to his feet.

Beach throws a leg kick

and Rodfers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rodfers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rodfers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rodfers is nestled in close to Beach, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Beach is pushing Rodfers up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A frustrated look appears on Rodfers's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rodfers changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Beach fights it off and pushes away nicely.
