Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kevin McAdams!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McAdams is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mathis's half guard.
McAdams prevents Mathis from improving his position.
Mathis is trying to stand up here but McAdams is controlling him well.
Mathis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mathis is trying to control but McAdams passes into side control!
McAdams is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mathis will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

McAdams is taking a breather. Mathis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mathis is concentrating on defense, preventing McAdams from advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mathis wants to sweep but McAdams has passed to side control!

McAdams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mathis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

McAdams content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Mathis is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Well, with McAdams on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Mathis is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Let's hope that McAdams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Mathis is desperately trying to improve his position but McAdams has a good base and remains in mount.

McAdams really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mathis.
Mathis tries to escape but McAdams has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Mathis wants to control his opponent's hands but McAdams gets his hands free.
Mathis is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

McAdams is persistently looking for the submission but Mathis is defending it well.

McAdams keeps control of the position as Mathis tries to break free.
Mathis is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by McAdams.

Kevin McAdams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Horrible takedown attempt by Mathis or perhaps it was just good defense by McAdams, which made it look bad.
And McAdams tries to counter it with a takedown but Mathis pushes his down on his head and steps out.
McAdams has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mathis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McAdams on his heels. He'll look to pass McAdams's guard now, I'm sure.
Mathis wants to control from the top but McAdams keeps moving.

McAdams pulls Mathis in close to his closed guard and prevents Mathis from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mathis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mathis misses with a takedown attempt - McAdams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McAdams seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from McAdams.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A very excited looking Kevin McAdams rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
