PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Conquistador. Shawn Michaels told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Michaels's guard.

Walker wants to control from the top but Michaels keeps moving.
Walker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Michaels had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walker defends it easily.
Walker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walker distracts Michaels with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Walker stands and throws Michaels's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Walker scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Michaels is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Walker can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Walker!
Luke Walker was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
