Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrel Prescott!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prescott misses with a two punch combination.
Prescott throws a one two combo.
Newell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Prescott counters with a three punch combo that has Newell backing up. Newell nods at Prescott to acknowledge the strikes.
Matthew Newell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prescott misses with a jab, cross combination.
Prescott connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Newell fails with the takedown
and Prescott connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Newell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Prescott misses with a leg kick.
Newell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Prescott's waist but Prescott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Newell off to one side.

Newell rushes Prescott and presses him up against the cage.

It looks like Darrel Prescott has been cut.

Prescott wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Prescott tries to break the clinch but Newell is controlling the position.

That has opened up Darrel Prescott's cut even more.

Newell is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Newell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Prescott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Newell.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Prescott misses with a jab, cross combination.
Newell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Prescott tries to avoid it but Newell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Prescott to the ground. Prescott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Prescott scores with a one two! Newell had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Prescott connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Prescott is working the combinations to good effect here.

Newell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Prescott counters with a nice uppercut.
Newell is looking to clinch.
Prescott stalks Newell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Newell's face. Newell staggers backwards, shaken.
Newell fails with the takedown
and Prescott counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Darrel Prescott will probably get the nod.

and Prescott counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Newell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Prescott stuffs the takedown attempt from Newell. Newell gets slowly back to his feet.
Newell throws a combination that misses

and Prescott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Newell's guard.

Newell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Prescott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Prescott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Prescott is looking to stand up but Newell won't let him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Newell wants to sweep but no luck.
Prescott wants to stand but Newell is controlling his posture from full guard.

Newell has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Prescott should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Newell has tightened it up now! Prescott should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
