PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Garver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garver has chosen Carver as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garver steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Prime.
Garver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Garver misses the shot to the body.
Prime has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Vicious Striking in the buildup to the fight.
Prime fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Garver manages to avoid it.

Prime takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Prime got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Prime has managed to get both his arms back between Garver's legs - danger averted.

Garver has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Garver lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Prime circles away quickly and effectively.

Garver throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Prime stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Prime looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Sloppy strikes from Garver. Those never looked like landing.
A little feinted left hand from Prime on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Garver takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Garver shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Garver has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Garver there as he acknowledges the shot.
Prime cracks Garver with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Garver tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Prime pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Garver is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
