Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brett Sellers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boco Ohara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ohara comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 7 years kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brett Sellers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boco Ohara !
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ohara misses with a head kick.
As Ohara looks to move away, Sellers throws a big counter combo but Ohara just gets out of the way.

Ohara closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sellers to the mat! Sellers manages to get full guard.

Sellers pushes Ohara off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Ohara closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sellers did well to prevent Ohara getting side control.

Sellers manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ohara keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sellers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ohara walks away with a smile on his face. Sellers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sellers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ohara .

Sellers stuffs the takedown attempt from Ohara . Ohara gets slowly back to his feet.

Sellers tries to keep at a distance but Ohara has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ohara pulls Sellers in close to his closed guard and prevents Sellers from doing any damage or advancing position.

Sellers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sellers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ohara wants to sweep here but Sellers controlling him for the moment.

Ohara throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sellers escapes and throws Ohara 's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Ohara looks winded!

Sellers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ohara has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ohara is trying to improve his position.
Ohara can't do much from the bottom here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sellers misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
You can see the frustration on Ohara 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sellers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sellers manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ohara to take his back!

and Sellers counters with a single leg into guard. Ohara didn't expect that.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sellers wants to control from the top but Ohara keeps moving.

Ohara had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sellers defends it easily.

Sellers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sellers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ohara 's head.
Sellers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ohara bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sellers's guard.


Sellers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ohara doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ohara manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sellers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ohara is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sellers trying to keep a closed guard but Ohara is proving a slippery customer.

Sellers doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Sellers has his foot on Ohara 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ohara works his way back into a safe position though.
Ohara controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ohara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sellers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ohara has managed to get both his arms back between Sellers's legs - danger averted.

Sellers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ohara doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ohara manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ohara avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ohara stands and steps away. Sellers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sellers jumps into guard, dragging Ohara to the mat.

Sellers tries to kick Ohara off but Ohara keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Sellers is looking for a sweep. Ohara is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ohara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sellers keeps working.

Ohara shoots in for a takedown but Sellers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sellers throws a wild body kick that Ohara sees coming a mile off.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sellers throws a looping overhand right but Ohara ducks down to avoid it.
Sellers tries to clinch but Ohara moves out of range.
Sellers misses with a two punch combination.
Sellers scores with a jab to the body.
Sellers throws a right and a left that Ohara avoids nicely.
Ohara throws out a counter right but Sellers avoids it with no problem.
Sellers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ohara circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sellers takes a swing at Ohara 's ribcage but misses.

Ohara doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Sellers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ohara won't be happy with that.
Ohara is looking to get back to his feet here but Sellers is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ohara 's back.
Brett Sellers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boco Ohara .
Sellers is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Ohara up.
Brett Sellers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ohara is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ohara might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sellers haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
