The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laprise shoots in for a double leg but Garcon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Laprise avoids a punch combination nicely.
Garcon lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Pierre Laprise has been cut.
Laprise has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Laprise fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Garcon avoids it really well and circles away.
Laprise changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garcon tries to avoid it but Laprise manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garcon to the ground. Garcon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Garcon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Laprise does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Garcon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Laprise shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garcon as he avoids it easily.
Garcon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Garcon.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pierre Garcon will probably get the nod.

Garcon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well Garcon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
