Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Troy Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Powers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Nelson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Powers to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Nelson pushes Powers off and scrambles back to his feet.
Powers throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nelson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A good leg kick by Powers.
Nelson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Powers is looking to counter punch.
Powers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Powers wants it to stay on the feet.
Nelson throws a looping overhand right but Powers ducks down to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nelson slips a jab from Powers.
Nelson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Powers was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Nelson looks to land a combination but Powers avoids it well.
Powers swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Powers looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Powers keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nelson.
Powers throws a front kick aimed at Nelson's knee but Nelson avoids it well.

Nelson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Powers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Powers attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Nelson looks to land a right hand but Powers moved out of range.
Nelson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Powers punishes Nelson's body with a nice straight punch.

The fighters circle momentarily. Powers darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Nelson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Powers moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Powers does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Powers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nelson misses the jab.
Nelson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nelson lands a slapping body shot.
Nelson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Powers darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


It looks like Roy Nelson has been cut.

Powers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Nelson throws a hook to the side of Powers's head but Powers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Powers is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Nelson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Powers lands with a nice body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Powers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nelson's calf.
Decent striking displayed by Powers there.
Powers moves out of range as Nelson strikes.
Nelson blocks a jab.
Nelson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Powers scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nelson doesn't seem bothered though.
Powers works the jab nicely.
Powers connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nelson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Powers takes a swing at Nelson's ribcage but misses.
Powers feints a jab promting Nelson to slip. Powers then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nelson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Powers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nelson's calf.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nelson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Powers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little jabbing left from Nelson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Nice defenses there by Powers.

Nelson throws an overhand right that lands on Powers's shoulder, as Powers tries to avoid the shot.

and Powers counters with a huge left! Nelson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Powers isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Nelson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Powers!
