PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lonnie Mueller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duffy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Duffy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mueller defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Duffy's arms.
Duffy has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mueller's body.

Duffy looking to break Mueller's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mueller remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Duffy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Duffy might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Duffy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mueller haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Duffy is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mueller is defending well though. Duffy let's go of the attempt for now.

Duffy is cranking Mueller's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Mueller! He's tightened the choke and Mueller is tapping out!
