Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Aldo throws a head kick that misses.
Silva throws a nice head kick!
Nice body kick from Silva.
Aldo tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.

Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva letting Aldo take a breather here.
Aldo trying to control the position but instead, Silva has worked for underhooks and has pushed Aldo into the cage.
Silva using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Aldo has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Silva blocks the elbow strike.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aldo tries to clinch but Silva moves away

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Aldo fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Aldo clinches but Silva breaks the clinch

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Aldo's guard.
Aldo is looking to sweep but instead, Silva has passed into half guard.
Aldo is looking to escape.

Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Aldo is kicking away at Silva from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Silva grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Aldo trying to push Silva off... Aldo taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
